Self Advocacy

Self Advocacy empowers individuals and helps them learn about their rights and responsibilities. Involvement in “Yes I Can,” the CCARC-sponsored self-advocacy group, fosters self confidence and promotes decision-making skills.

The philosophy of Yes I Can members is that persons with disabilities should be treated as equals and are able to learn from their mistakes and speak for themselves. Goals include building community supports and advocating for the rights of all citizens with disabilities.

Yes I Can is self governed but is affiliated with "People First of Connecticut."
