Staff Recognition
CCARC, Inc. is committed to making dreams happen for the individuals we serve.
The Employee of the Quarter and Star programs are fun ways to recognize and reward employees who go above and beyond their typical duties. This may include things such as handling a crisis appropriately and effectively; or finding a different and creative way to assist a resident or client in learning a new skill.
The Star program allows an employee’s peers or supervisor to recognize them for a job well done and reward them with a “star” redeemable for a gift card to a local merchant. Recipients are entered into a monthly drawing for a gift certificate to a local restaurant.
The Employee of the Quarter program allows peers or supervisors to recognize an employee for going “above and beyond” in their support of the individuals we serve. Nominations are submitted and voted on by the Staff Recognition Committee, made up of a cross section of employees. The winner receives a Day off with Pay, check, lunch with the CEO, and recognition in the “Sharing the Dream” newsletter and at the CCARC Annual meeting. All nominees receive a “star” in recognition of their nominations.
MICHELLE Bilodeau
nominated by Joan Fisher: 1st Quarter 2011 WinnerI would like to nominate this employee as employee of the quarter. He/She is an outstanding employee who is dedicated to his/her job and CCARC.
She/He is always willing to assist other employees when they need help. He/She does whatever it takes to help the CCARC staff – I have seen him/her time and time again sit with new management staff to train them in the payroll process. He/She is always extremely patient and cooperative when working with our staff when they come to him/her with questions.
You know when you need help you can go to this employee. He/She is always willing to assist. He/she consistently volunteers to take on additional job responsibilities and when I needed someone to take on the internet based DDS attendance system he/she happily took on that job. Within a day, he/she had not only learned the system and the process, but also set up a fantastic new reporting system in excel.
In addition, he/she has also volunteered to take on additional job responsibilities while one of our staff was out for an extended period of time. For the past three months, this employee has not only performed his/her assigned job duties, he/she has picked up a large part of the absent employee’s job duties. He/she has done an excellent job – getting everything done timely and correctly – and always with a smile.
He/She certainly deserves to be employee of the quarter. He/She continues to receive recognition from the CCARC staff because he/she exemplifies all the best qualities that we want in a CCARC employee. He/She is a dedicated, hardworking employee who always goes above and beyond and constantly reaches out to others when they need help.
CHERYL Collar
nominated by Lisa Dagenais: 4th Quarter 2010 CO-WinnerThis employee is a dedicated and hardworking staff that goes above and beyond on a regular basis. He/she will often put in extra time at home to ensure that every detail is perfect for scheduled activities. This could mean anything from putting together party favors, making a birthday cake, to mixing five different batters for cookie making. These little touches make the individuals he/she serves feel special and enhance the events. He/she always considers the needs of the clients he/she serves and puts them first. Since this employee works independently many of the extra things he/she does go unnoticed by his/her peers and even at times his/her supervisor. It may not be until later, after a conversation with a client that I will learn about what he/she has done. He/she does not do these things for the credit, but to enhance the lives of the clients.
Since this employee brings clients to very public places he/she is in the position of helping clients assimilate into the community and to learn appropriate social behaviors while educating curious and sometimes uncomfortable onlookers. This at times can be extra challenging because he/she is the only staff person out on outings with the clients. He/she often handles unique situations creatively and professionally thus maintaining the individual’s dignity.
For these reasons and many more I am nominating this employee for employee of the quarter.
PAULINE Dunn
nominated by Darly Andre: 4th Quarter 2010 CO-WinnerThis employee is an outstanding employee who always comes to work with a positive attitude and an exceptional willingness to improve the resident’s lives. This employee is well versed of the resident’s routines in general.
He/she is always willing to cover the cell phone in the absence of the management team. As the nature of the house is multifaceted due to the intense medical aspects of the residents, he/she will go above and beyond to fulfill the resident’s needs.
He/she is a remarkable resource for his/her co- workers. The staff at the group home always feels comfortable approaching him/her when seeking information that will help them better their work performance. He/she has been working in the group home since it opened, he/she participates significantly in new staff training's.
One of his/her biggest strengths is dependability. He/she always shows up for her shift. If other shifts need to be covered, as long as this employee is available, he/she will rearrange his/her personal affairs to help secure the staffing ratio.
As the dietary guidelines at the group home fluctuate as a result of the resident’s medical status, he/she is always willing to be educated on the eating guideline in order to complete the food shopping accordingly. He/she also handles the “ordering” of all equipments needed in the group home.
He/she takes a lot of pride in completing tasks that are delegated to him/her and always ensures that they are done to the best of his/her ability.
He/she has an excellent rapport with the guardians as he/she is always willing to assist them with any situation that arises when he/she is covering the phone.
This employee is a very positive addition to the agency as he/she reflects the agency’s mission in his/her work performance daily.
TRICIA Lang
nominated by Amy Gagne: 3rd Quarter 2010 WinnerTricia goes above and beyond her job. She is always there for the clients when they need her. When a client ran off on a Friday night at 10pm, Tricia was at the house willing to help. She got in an agency vehicle and helped look for the client the entire night. Even after finding the client who refused to return to the group home, Tricia stayed in the hallway watching the door of the apartment that she was in. She sat in the hallway from 3 a.m. until about 6:30 a.m. even though she was not on shift. She wanted to be there for the client in case she needed to talk. Tricia stays late if the clients need her.
She often comes in on her days off to take the clients to home visits and is willing to be available to the clients after the home visit either by phone or in person. She attends training's to help her learn more about ways to help the clients and implements ideas afterwards. She starts social groups for the girls in our group home. She wants them to succeed and become valuable members of the community.
SHARENA Yopp
nominated by Jenn Rosensweig: 2nd Qtr 2010 WinnerHe/she is a very caring, patient and dedicated employee. He/she comes to work each day ready to serve our clients in any way that he/she can. He/she looks out for their best interests and readily helps them to achieve anything that is important to them. Recently, one of our individuals has been in crisis, exhibiting sometimes severe SIB. He/she readily stepped up to pitch in, in various ways. Receiving a phone call the night before, he/she was asked to report to the hospital to provide services to the individual and give the hospital staff information to enable them to work with the client. He/she continued to do this for a full week and consistently reported back to the agency what was occurring. He/she kept the client’s best interest first and foremost, continuously advocating for the client, regardless of the fact that it was a very challenging assignment.
Since the client’s release from the hospital, he/she has continued to provide supports that have gone above and beyond his/her service responsibilities. This included reporting to the residence in the morning and providing assistance with bathing, toileting, transportation, behavior management and ensuring the client’s safety. He/she did all of these things while acclimating the client back into the program and setting various boundaries. He/she is willing to step in at a moment’s notice without complaint. He/she gives 100% of himself/herself to the clients that he/she serves and we are very lucky to have him/her as a part of the team. He/she is a positive role model to all that he/she encounters.
